a new initiative of the food sharing project
Lunch is Ready!
The Food Sharing Project will begin a pilot project to deliver free lunches to select schools starting in March 2025. Each week a different lunch will be available for you to order for your child at no charge! Lunch will include a variety of wraps, sandwiches and salads and will include a carton of milk and fruit. Kindergarten to Grade 3 students will receive a half-size portion which suits their smaller appetite.
Begin by selecting your school from the list below and see the lunch which is available to order for the following week. Next, select the meal, the school and classroom teacher, add your child’s name, and proceed to check out.
Lunch is provided at no charge unless you choose to pay some or all of the cost. No need to enter an amount in the price window. The limit is one lunch per student but you can place an order for each child attending this school at the same time.
NEXT ORDER DEADLINE is Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 9:00pm

Lunch is Ready
The Food Sharing Project and KFL&A schools are partners in providing nutrition to students.

The Food Sharing Project has been providing nutritious food to schools in Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington for 40 years. This new initiative makes use of existing, underutilized kitchens in high schools around the region – and non-profit food providers – to prepare a nutritious lunch made by professional cooks, trained volunteers, and co-op students. Families from participating schools can order a lunch that is freshly made and delivered to the school one day a week. The deadline to order a lunch for the following week is TUESDAY at 9:00pm.

Making healthy lunches available for students

Our Mission
To provide nourishment to students in KFL&A to improve their readiness to learn by increasing access to healthy and nutritious food.

Food Hubs
We use existing kitchen facilities in high schools that have been underutilized since the pandemic. They are clean, safe, and expertly operated by our Chef Manager.

Community Partners
We source food from Jobwell, which is a social enterprise operated through Providence Care Hospital which provides meaningful employment for adults living with mental illness.
